1. How does deworming as a practice help the animal? 1. All animals should be dewormed on a regular interval basis to get rid of internal parasites. Parasites are the cause of various diseases, low production and poor health of the animal. Make use of OPD services at Veterinary Hospitals for medication.
2. How does the department contribute towards Rabies and its control? 2. Department in cooperation with M.C.D has undertaken animal breeding control program in dogs to restrict stray dog population and vaccinate them simultaneously. Arrangements for free pre and post bite Anti-Rabies vaccination at Veterinary Hospital level are being made.
3. What is the impact of Foot & Mouth Disease, Hemorrhagic Septicemia, and Mastitis diseases on the farmer? 3. These are the three main livestock diseases responsible for a major nationwide economic loss due to lack of production, reproduction and mortality. Prophylaxis, segregation and strict hygiene are the only measure to prevent it.
4. How can the outbreak/ infection of Foot & Mouth Disease and Hemorrhagic Septicemia diseases can be minimized? 4. It can be minimized by healthy farming practices and timely prophylactic vaccination against these diseases .Also by restricting the movement of carriers and infected animals in and out of a zone. 
5. When and how to get the animals protected against of Foot & Mouth Disease and Hemorrhagic Septicemia diseases? 5. The department undertakes free mass vaccination of all the animals in the month of may-june for FMD and before the monsoon for HS every year through its Veterinary Hospitals.
6. Is there a facility for enhancement of production in indigenous cows and buffaloes through breeding? 6. Yes, the department provides free artificial insemination service of exotic breed high quality semen through its various Hospitals and A.I. centers.
7.  Are any treatment camps etc. being organized by the Department as a door service to the farmers? 7. Yes, the Department organizes free treatment, vaccination, medicine distribution and consultation camps at every district level (DAHO) once every month at different locations.
8. Does the Department involve itself into educating farmers about A.H. activities? 8. The department through its extension activities and A.H. camps holds Kisan Goshthis / Audio Visual demonstrations to educate farmers at regular intervals.
9. What are the various training activities imparted by the Department to the benefit of the farmers? 9. The Department imparts a short term poultry farming training to the candidates interested and issues a certificate and stipend. It is given at district level under each DAHO.
10. Can the farmers avail the X-Ray / Laboratory facility in any kind? 10. The Department is equipped with Laboratory facility at Veterinary Hospital, Palam and X-Ray support at Tishazari Hospital and Bawana polyclinic.
11. Does specialized treatment facility exist for animals in need of it? 11. In the fields of medicine, gynaecology and surgery, the specialized treatment is available at Bawana Polyclinic on referral basis.
12. Is the Department providing any Veterinary services to any other organization, agency or Govt. body as an external help? 12. The Department is extending Veterinary expertise to other desirous agencies viz. Gosadans, SPCA, Poultry market and in curbing unauthorized slaughtering in tandem with MCD.
13. Do all the animals brought to OPD at Veterinary Hospitals are provided with necessary Medicines? 13. All the animals are attended at the OPD and provided with necessary medicine on the advice of the VAS.
14. Is availability of medicines being ensured and does the farmer need to pay? 14. All efforts are made to ensure the availability of Medicine at Veterinary Hospitals round the year. The farmer need not to pay for medicines or any other services rendered at the Hospitals.
